What is the Purpose of an introduction?
An introduction is used in various forms of writing. As the first paragraph in an essay, its main focus is to make the readers eager to read more. The introduction as we all know enables readers to have a clear and concise idea of what is being covered in the initial writing.
Is the introduction the most important part of an essay?
Though opinions may vary. I would consider the introductory piece to be the most important part of an essay. It is used to sell the writer's topic and general ideas to the readers. Additionally, it is the key component that captures the audience's attention to continue reading. once a road map of relevant points and purposes are provided.
Some of the elements used when writing an essay.
- An attention grabber component. (eg. A startling statement, quotation & descriptive image)
- The background context.
- The purpose or problem being addressed.
- The thesis statement.
- The main points
How I would begin an introduction piece.
